[ SO. Sora is your Weapon for whatever reason, but before you can use her in battle, she needs to explain how it works! Which she's been doing for a few minutes now. ]

I guess how it works is... Um, basically, I have to be moving and dancing to unlock the sword's true power! So I'll do that when the battle starts, and you'll get stronger, okay? And don't worry about them attacking me to stop the power, I won't let your strength falter for even a second!

2. prose

"Alien... history?" Sora stared blankly at the chalkboard and the weird letters on it. No matter how she looked at it, those weren't words. Were they? Well, she didn't know any letters anyway, but didn't English look different, somehow? Less... "Pointy," she decided aloud. "English is less pointy than that. So if it isn't English..."

And that wasn't even starting on what they were being taught. She was so very, utterly confused.

[Utena can't help but giggle at this idea. It's not the idea of music in a duel. She's used to inexplicable Greek choruses. But the idea of her Bride Weapon dancing around...]

Do you know how you're going to be dancing?

I thought I'd do some of my favourite routines from last year's show. They're not original, but I really like doing them! [ she demonstrates with a few moves that are mostly upper body movements and gestures with a lot of energetic dancing from side to side. Also twirls. ]

It's kinda like fighting!

[She claps and smiles. It's good to finally have a partner in this who's as thickheaded enthusiastic as she is. Not that she'd blame anyone for not being enthusiastic.]

Looks like you've got it. We'll be unbeatable!

Right! [ they are going to be the best team ever. ]

"No, it isn't English..." Dahlia couldn't help the side-eye she shot over at Sora. What a clueless little ditz.

In that case, Sora is stumped. Maybe if she hadn't slept through the other lessons on Alternian History this week, she might understand, but. Alas. It was not to be.

"What does it say, then?"

[traces]

"...I don't know," she admitted, looking back down at her desk. "It's not a language I'm familiar with."

"I guess it could be... Alternian? That's the name of this class, isn't it?" Oh wow Sora has no idea at all. She has a few notes, but most of her paper is covered in choreography notes and scribbles of her trying to remember lost memories to absolutely no effect. "I could ask the teacher..."

Yuki, of course, has the whole Alternian alphabet translated into both Japanese and English (because why not), and was not surprised that Sora was just now realizing that this wasn't english. She isn't sure if she wants to sigh or smile, it's just so Sora like for someone who isn't her Sora. With both a smile and a sigh she shows Sora her notes, "Does this help?"

On Sora's side, there seems to be absolutely no difference in her behaviour towards this Yuki - it's still Yuki, after all! So she leans over gratefully to copy down the Japanese translation. She still doesn't understand it, but it's good to have something to write down.

"Ahh, thank you, Yuki, this helps a lot! I didn't know school could get more complicated than it was before..."

"I can help in whatever class you need, since people are from different worlds," she pauses for a moment to really look at Sora, "and different universes, it makes sense that there are different classes."

Sora may notice that Yuki stares at her for longer than is really socially appropriate, but she can't help but compare and contrast this Sora and her Sora. She needs to understand her feelings.

"I wonder if there are classes on dragons," Sora mused, totally missing the deeper meaning behind Yuki's explanation. "Or classes on justice across the universe."

She did, in fact, notice the stare, but just returned it with a beaming smile. Really, how amazing was it that the Yuki she was sitting with came from a different universe, and they were still friends? Sora couldn't stop being thrilled by it. Yuki probably had misgivings... she was smarter, after all. There were probably things Sora didn't understand, but she hadn't said anything about them, so Sora had made the executive decision to leave it be.

Yuki laughs, "I bet someone will come and teach us about dragons, and I think you would be a good teacher for justice across universes. I think all Soras would be," she smiles at her and blushes just a little bit.
