Enki had briefly paused at the edge of a clearing in the woods between the dining hall and the dorms, leaning against a tree to watch the red-headed girl train.

She was graceful, yes, and with nothing resembling a weapon, he had been able to look at it for longer than usual, but the motions were familiar and finally unsettled him enough to leave.

Currently, he was sitting in another clearing, leaning back against a tree and relieved that Shōryū wasn't around. There was, after all, quite a huge difference in the image it gave of, that between petting Rikaku or Kibou, and, as he was now, a rabbit.

The fluffy creature was shivering, but it was not out of fear; if Rokuta wasn't sure the rabbit keel over and die from being 'rejected' if he stopped, he'd put the animal aside to let it calm down.

This was relaxing, but also potentially humiliating. It was lucky Shōryū didn't have a 'kirin homing beacon' - though why he would ha... - like kirin did for kings.

"A rabbit!" Sora's greeting wasn't exactly intelligent or witty, but then she never really needed to be. Plus, bunny. Towel still around her shoulders from a quick dip in one of the water features - if she spent the time trying to find the dorms, she'd never eat, right? - she leaned in a little to look more closely. The boy holding the rabbit was familiar, in that Sora knew every student by sight if not by name, zip code and blood type. Enki, she recalled. Someone Suzaku wanted to protect.

"I can never get them to come to me... I don't think rabbits like knights much. Ah, but it's so cute!"

"Er---" Enki winced as he looked up, not at all prepared to meet the girl he'd seen training earlier. The rabbit stilled where it lay between his knees, but didn't move.

"The rabbit's here are wild... I don't think they'd come to many people..." And that was just admission of some sort of (unwanted) 'specialness', though with the girl's chirpy and rather... er... upbeat? expression, Enki didn't think she'd pick up on that.

A towel, though..?

"... Did you jump into one of the ponds or fountains in the forest?" Enki blinked and stared at the girl. Why hadn't she just gone back to the dorms? The showers had warm water, after all.

"I could see the fountain," she admitted, plopping herself down on the grass just far enough away that she wouldn't startle the rabbit.

Or the boy, actually, because he looked a little alarmed. She smiled at him anew. "Ehehe. I have problems with directions... one of my lost memories. It takes me forever to find the dorms, so someone usually comes to find me when it's time for class or lunch..." Silly, right, was what her expression seemed to say, but she didn't look that bothered by it personally.

Anyway, bunny.

"So you have a 'way with animals', like a wizard or a sage?"

"But why-- What? No, I don't!" Enki's original sentence got lost in spluttered denial, even if the reality seemed to shame that denial, considering the rabbit and a few sparrows seated on the closest branch. One of the more courageous ones had settled in Enki's hair, though it lifted briefly as Enki shook his head harshly.

"I mean... Not really. They're just drawn, I ain't doing anything," Enki said with a scowl, though his hand was as gentle on the rabbit as before, stroking the back.

"What're you doing out here, anyway, if they've taken your memories of... uh... direction in general, or whatever?" Attempt to deflect the conversation away from these annoying animals' presence was priority. Even if it was a weak attempt.

Luckily, Sora was easily distracted in the name of friendly conversation.

"Exercising!" It was simple, really. "I've got to be in top shape if I want to help everyone, so I train every day. Normally I'm with someone I can follow back, though..."

She hmmed for a moment. "You're... Enki?"

"But..." Enki trailed off and kind of stared a bit. Shouldn't she just stay close to the buildings then? Or was it so bad that even if she did stay close to the actual buildings (or just one, her dorm or something) that she'd find herself in the middle of the forests on campus?

"How... long have you been out here by now?" Enki frowned and looked up at what could be seen of the sky from where they were; he knew it was after lunch, he'd brought fruit for that.

"Er... Yeah. You are?" Never let it be said that Enki was the perfect picture of politeness, because, really, he wasn't.

"Since breakfast! I overslept this morning, so I couldn't train with Utena..." So sad. Sora enjoyed the other girl's company too much not to mourn a missed chance to train with her. "It's nice to meet you, Enki! I'm Sora. Sora Himoto, first year highschool."

Enki dipped his head in a nod/shallow bow as she introduced herself. Sora must have gotten used to give her name in the way of the lands beyond Hourai, because that was certainly not how the Japanese said it, and despite her bright hair (which almost made him wonder if she was taika, but... he didn't think so, for some reason), the name was clearly Japanese.

"What'd you think of... all this?" Enki asked as he vaguely waved a hand in the air, unable to express what he meant, but hopefully clear he was encompassing all of it. It would be, he supposed, useful to know what more than just Suzaku thought of this place.
